Gormlaith Maynes

Biography

From Drogheda, Co. Louth concertina player Gormlaith Maynes joins us as a tutor for this years festival.
Holding a Masters in Traditional Irish Music Performance from the University of Limerick, Gormlaith has gone on to perform in a solo & group capacity. Having spent two years on the east coast of Canada, Gormlaith was a founding member, composer & performer with the Canadian folk band Inn Echo, releasing their debut album in 2019 & later an EP in 2020. During her time there, Gormlaith also founded a new Comhaltas Branch CCÉ Oileán Rua and undertook the role of Co-ordinator for Celtic & Traditional Music at Holland College on Prince Edward Island. Gormlaith will be on tour in Austria in Spring 2023 supporting Steph Germia & Dermot Byrne.
