Biography

Rosa Carroll is a fiddle player from Feakle in East Clare and is a great exponent of the laid back, rhythmic music of this area. She was taught by fiddlers Pat O’Connor and John Weir and also cites concertina player Mary McNamara as a huge influence on her playing. Rosa has traveled worldwide with her music, teaching and performing at festivals including Glenntown Irish Music Festival in Sweden and Boston Celtic Music Festival. She has also performed locally at festivals in Feakle and Kilfenora, Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy & Tunes in the Church concert series. Rosa was awarded the Young Fiddler of East Clare title in 2015, and obtained the Creative Arts Performance Scholarship in Music from NUI Galway in 2019. Rosa is currently working as a midwife in University Hospital Galway.
